PHS (Personal Handyphone System)
PHS offers three major features, consisting of super low rates, ultra low electromagnetic waves, and high-speed wireless Internet connection. In comparison with GSM, PHS calling rates are on average 50% lower, and its electromagnetic waves are 1% lower, while providing 64K high-speed wireless Internet connection. PHS’s unique advantages make it outperform all competitors.

MiMi (Mobile Information Mobile Internet) Information Value-Added Services

At the time when the voice telecommunications market was becoming overcrowded and data transmission services had become a major battlefield, FITEL successfully launched online value-added services. Taking advantage of its high transmission speed and a low rate of NT$0.95 per minute to sweep the market, PHS reached an incredible subscription rate of 65%, becoming the No. 1 brand among Taiwan’s mobile phone service providers.

MiMi Thumb Information: With internet connection, a mobile phone can provide a variety of services such as: performing data transmission combined with audio/video, location search, information, games, downloading, reading services. etc., allowing for complete integration of mobile information. MiMi Thumb Information encompasses nearly 300 services under 18 major categories which includes Thumb Video Service, location search, warm-hearted mobile location tracking service, banking service, etc.

MiMi Thumb Email: Provides e-mail reception and transmission service by sending attachments via mobile phones in the form of graphics, ring-tones, Karaoke audio/video, etc...

WiWi (Wireless Information Wireless Internet)
FITEL uses PHS’s relevant modes and components. By combining various terminal equipment such as Notebooks, PDAs, etc., users are able to surf Internet pages wirelessly through ISPs (HiNet, Seednet, etc.) at a speed of 64K. FITEL also introduced speed dial code 111 and 123, which requires no complicated account password to get online.

FITEL offers various terminal equipment for online services. This includes U-cable and PCMCIA Cards which integrates a PHS phone with a Notebook, P-Tail package which integrates a PHS phone with a PDA, and WiWi cards which uses a built-in number to surf the Internet and requires no connection to a mobile phone or a transmission line .
Japan Roaming Service
FITEL cooperates with the largest PHS telecommunications provider in Japan, DDI Pocket. The service not only allows Taiwanese PHS users to roam with their own mobile phones while visiting Japan for business or sightseeing, but also allows Japanese business people or tourists to enjoy roaming service with their own mobile phones and phone numbers while visiting Taiwan. This was the first service introduced and provided by FITEL.

VPN (Virtual Private Network)
With our unique CENTREX SERVICE, FITEL can be highly integrated with existing enterprise communications equipment to build out a wireless telecommunication environment. SMS (Short Messaging Service), phone extensions, and PHS phones offer services like wireless extension, short number dialing, corporate SMS, wireless Internet and location search, etc., providing a complete integrated solution for VPN and upgrading corporate competitiveness. The additional feature of the ultra low electromagnetic waves (which is interference-free to all dedicated equipment) have made PHS’s VPN the best VPN solution for hi-tech industries and hospitals. Organizations such as AU Optronics Corp., VIA Technologies, NTU Hospital, Chang-Gung Memorial Hospital, Tri-Service General Hospital, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, etc. have all begun to adopt this service and occupy approximately 80% of the market share. The result is quite outstanding.

PHS Mobile Office (DIMOS)
FITEL integrates the strengths of a fixed network and PHS to keep corporate extensions available 24 hours a day, providing 64K wireless Internet connection anytime. FITEL adopts PHS’s two-way mobile-to-mobile local calling service, where all intranet calls are charged at the rate of NT$1.9 per every 3 minutes, saving 92% in phone rates. Additionally, FITEL has cost-saving functions, where making outbound local calls and outbound mobile calls can save 20% and 50% respectively. Making domestic distance calls and international calls can save 30% and 40% respectively. Making intranet calls can even save up to 92%. All the aforementioned calls adopt the One-Call One-Bill method to avoid any inconvenience caused by changing calling habits, and prevent against any unauthorized use.

Value-Added Voice Service
Provides “520 Talk Too Sweet,” “Life 543,” “588 Mobile Stock Vendor,” and “1688 Motor Vehicle Transportation Service” by way of IVR voice dialing. This service allows users to conduct meeting with friends on air, request songs, find out their horoscope and fortunes, listen to headline news, make reservations, get motor vehicle transportation information, play interactive games, listen to stock quotations and purchase stocks through the mobile phone.

SMS Application Service
FITEL provides general and corporate users with SMS service. When using the corporate SMS service to send messages, users can immediately send messages or reserve them to send later, either as single or groups of messages

Personal Ring Back Tone Service
With database management developed out of J2EE technology, plus a direct connection between service creation tools and telecom exchangers, FITEL provide users various ring-tones, including songs, interesting dialogues, and music to replace the traditionally boring ring back tone.

Doubled Speed Exceeds the Limit
Initially, FITEL PHS targeted the greater Taipei area as the major scope of communications, followed by Taoyuan, and Hsinchu. Now the Company is gradually extending its service to Kaohsiung, Taichung and Tainan areas. In the future, the Company will further provide a 384K transmission speed to march towards 3G service, so that it can continue to provide better performance in the glamorous domain of existing mobile data services.
